Euroepan beauty

Dublin, Ireland

One reply on “Euroepan beauty”

When the British departed the Irish Free State in 1922 they left a fairly extensive infrastructure behind. Public buildings, hospitals, schools, railways, ports, lighthouses, bridges and many attractive private houses, both urban and rural. However, the new Irish state remained very poor for the next sixty or so years and during that time much of that infrastructure decayed or was destroyed or dismantled. Like most places in the White world the new architecture, both private and public, is largely ugly and soulless even though the state is now quite wealthy. Nothing like the above building is being created these days and is unlikely to ever be as the Irish themselves are being replaced by the Third World invaders.
