Morgan is great for dispelling the mythology surrounding The American Civil War.
The American racial right is lying to itself, through self-deception, about US history because to see the bare facts would mean that Yankee Christians screwed up big time, out of deranged altruism (Xtian ethics), before Jewry took over their media.
You shoud read The Founding Myth by Andrew Seidl. Although a leftist, he basically agrees with Morgan that The American Civil War was a religious war instigated, acerbated, and prolonged by crazy Christians.
