You should not beautify Christianity or try to dress it up: it has waged a war to the death against this higher type of person, it has banned all the basic instincts of this type, it has developed its concept of evil, of the Evil One himself out of these instincts—the strong human being as reprehensible, as ‘depraved’.
Christianity has taken the side of everything weak, base, failed; it has made an ideal out of whatever contradicts the preservation instincts of sound life; it has corrupted even the faculties of those natures that are intellectually most vigorous by teaching people to see the highest spiritual values as sinful, as deceptive, as temptations. The most lamentable example—the corruption of Pascal, who believed that his intellect had been destroyed by original sin, whereas it was actually destroyed by Christianity! —

‘You should not beautify Christianity or try to dress it up…’
I know this is preaching to the desert, but what would have happened if Mason had not fallen into the traps of that curious American cult, Christian Identity? Would he have already caused great harm to the System (as he imagined in my other post today)?
If Nietzsche were alive today wouldn’t he say, ‘The most lamentable example—the corruption of Mason’…?
I don’t think anything would be different in this regard. He never attacked the System before he converted to Idiot Identity, so why should this make any difference? In fact, if you look at his articles on Siegeculture, you will see that his rhetoric is reflective of the “sandy” violence of the Old Testament.
A rhetoric on OT violence is toxic insofar it has Hebrew heroes instead of Aryan heroes. Again, ‘you should not beautify Christianity or try to dress it up’.
Mason wanted a revolution, but only in the context of the System and its politics. When you are trying to organize a political movement it limits what you can do. Certainly taking control of the US government wasn’t something Mason could have any hope of ever doing by himself. I think he saw the terroristic possibilities of Manson and the Tate-LaBianca murders as pointing a way to increase racial tension, hoping for a cascade effect that might bring down the government as numerous others joined in to commit similar crimes. Of course, that didn’t happen. A culture based in high technology can’t afford anarchists, because anarchy would make the technological magic cease to function. That’s why, in the popular imagination, Manson’s name is probably second only to Hitler’s as a synonym for evil; nor was there ever a point, from back in the Sixties to this day, at which Manson received any degree of cultural sympathy. In that regard, he’s even more of a pariah than Hitler. Manson’s tortured genius produced a propaganda of the deed that was anti-System and, to an extent, anti-technology, but it was never very well articulated or developed. I see Manson’s anti-technology stance, as far as it could be said to exist at all, as being at odds with Mason’s desire to take over the System. The Mason/Manson alliance was a very strange one. It’s my belief they were both trying to use each other for their own purposes, which were quite different.
Have you seen Charles Manson Superstar? In this, I believe he slags off Mason to some degree, which Mason claimed was Charles’ discontentment with Mason’s System politics. I think that Manson wanted him to stage an actual war against the Government.
Understand that I have not seen this, but I would not be surprised if you have, so you should know more about this than I do.
guess i’ll have to flash card this snippet of nietzshe’s to reflash some pages of my long term memory. well worth internalizing it word-for-word.
The book is IMO his most important work. As his biographer, Janz, said: ‘A fact whose significance cannot be underestimated is that Nietzsche’s philosophical thought is definitely interrupted with the Antichrist on September 30, 1888′.
mason strikes me as yet another example of the bell curve of accomplishment, its two outliers being all talk and all do. what are his accomplishments in the seige culture he discusses? how much does he still believe in what he wrote decades ago? yes, mason highlights the secrecy and loner tactics as helping stay anonymous and below the radar. so? how realistic in ticking off items on one’s project list by disciplined investment of focus time everyday? i code small projects. both number and effectiveness qualities of my accomplishments are very definitely improved by having even one more set of eyes looking at the same issue. otherwise, effectiveness is mostly alchemic. left to the realm of synchronicity/ the universe helps those who help themselves/ magical thinking. i fear. (of course, c.t., your authorship output is pretty damned good. though i think you’re an exception and not the rule.)
