Tom Goodrich

(21 November 1947 – 4 December 2024)

Michael Thomas Goodrich (born Michael Thomas Schoenlein), the author of what I consider the most important book written in English this century, died on Wednesday.

Not long ago, I exchanged my last correspondence with him, telling him I wanted to promote his books on this site; today, his publisher confirmed that he had passed away (see this Thursday’s interview esp. from 1:50).

Even in the last book of my autobiography in Spanish, I leave the reader with the thankless task of reading Hellstorm since without that reading, my mental transformation—from liberal to conservative, from conservative to white nationalist, and from white nationalist to National Socialist—could not be understood.

Goodbye, Tom. There are no writers like you left in your country. May some English speakers at least pick up your torch….

Terrible news.

The audacity this man had in order to uncover the crimes commited againts Germany is remarkable. A brave man, and now he is gone.

Dark times ahead. Rest in glory, Mr Goodrich.

Hi Paul,

It’s good to see you commenting here.

Some years ago I even got to talk to Tom via Skype, and we even recorded a conversation for the general public (WDH Radio Show – Episode 3).

Unfortunately, SoundCloud suddenly cancelled our account and that recording was lost after a catastrophe on my hard drive.

But Tom’s words remain in my memories. Once, on one of our radio shows (I don’t know if it was Episode 3), he commented that in my texts I manifested my soul: that I laid it bare. I don’t remember his exact words but I was impressed by his portrayal of me. Tom had a psychological insight into the human soul that very, very few have…

He was the only American to whom I sent my first book, Hojas Susurrantes, in Word (though not translated: the original manuscript).

Rest in peace, my friend. Your incredible work will live on, and the truth will prevail. Hellstorm is a masterpiece, and although it was painful for you to write, you succeeded in informing the world of this tragedy. You will always be a hero, especially to the German people.
