The christians speak of an original sin, something about eating forbidden fruit. Actually, the original sin was a man listening to the woman and affecting his relationship with his god.
I added this quote only because my father destroyed his siblings by believing all the defamation and slander and calumny that came out of his spouse’s tongue. Decades ago he really accepted and ate Eve’s apple to the point of destroying a family paradise.

I feel for the Japanese, whose ancestral religion is caught between two very powerful universalisms. Whilst even their nobler traditions cannot be our own, they still parallel ours in interesting ways.
